Episode 10. Featuring Zulpha Styer, 2017 Australian Universities' John Monash Scholar
Zulpha is a public policy professional and lawyer who is passionate about delivering the best outcomes for multicultural communities through improved policy development and community engagement.
Zulpha earned a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in May 2020. She studied at Columbia as a John Monash Scholar with fellowships from the International Fellows Program, Global Public Policy Network Sustainable Development Goals Professional Program, and the Baumann Endowment Fund.
Zulpha also has bachelor degrees in Law and Arts from the University of New South Wales, and a Master of Laws with Merit and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
She currently serves as a Principal Council Officer in the NSW Parliament Legislative Council, where she manages education inquiries. She has more than six years of experience as a senior policy and legal advisor to Australian governments, including the Australian Government Attorney-General's Department and NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet. In 2015, she was awarded an Australia Day Achievement Medallion in 2015 for her public service. Zulpha has developed and consulted on policy initiatives in the USA, South Africa, Peru, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
She has extensive volunteer experience and sits on the Multicultural NSW Regional Advisory Council for Metropolitan Sydney.
