High-profile supporters and friends of the General Sir John Monash Foundation attended a special 20th anniversary dinner in Perth last night.

Hosted by Wesfarmers, guests included Janet Holmes a Court AC and Gilbert George, Annie Fogarty AM and Brett Fogarty, Professor Robert French AC and Brian Haggerty.

During a lively night of discussion and story-telling, the Foundation's Chairman, Jillian Segal AO, provided an overview of the John Monash program over the past twenty years, highlighting the achievements of Scholars and the generosity of donors. "Western Australia is such an important part of everything we do," she said. "The State has produced twenty-eight outstanding Scholars so far across a wide range of fields."

Host Naomi Flutter, Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Wesfarmers, said how much Wesfarmers valued the relationship with the Foundation. "We are proud to be associated with a national organisation creating leaders for the future."

Western Australian John Monash Scholars Dr Sally Thompson (2006 John Monash Scholar), Dr Sam Brophy-Williams (2012 John Monash Scholar) and Thomas Jenkins (2020 Wesfarmers John Monash Scholar) each spoke with genuine emotion about what the John Monash Scholarship had meant to them, including the life-changing role it has played.
