Leading Australian businesswomen Carolyn Hewson AO joins the Foundation’s Leadership Academy Advisory Board
07 March 2024
The John Monash Foundation warmly welcomes its newest Leadership Academy Advisory Board member, Carolyn Hewson AO. Carolyn is a former investment banker with over 35 years of experience in finance and extensive leadership experience across a number of sectors, including a depth of insight into strategy, capital management, risk, social value and organisational culture.
Carolyn is currently a Director of Infrastructure SA, a Director of the Reserve Bank of Australia, and a former Member of the Federal Government Growth Centres Advisory Committee.
Carolyn has always had a passion for, and been very involved in, the not–for–profit sector. In 2009, she was made an Officer in the Order of Australia for her services to the broader community and to business.
Having officially launched in 2023, the John Monash Foundation Leadership Academy is an alumni program designed to ensure the professional and academic success of Scholar members. The Academy provides ongoing support, mentorship and professional development for John Monash Scholars to help maximise their long-term impact, constituting an alumni talent bank for Australia. With the help of Carolyn, the whole of the Advisory Board, and our new Leadership Academy Executive Director, Dr Karen McConalogue, the Academy hopes to continue to grow into a supportive and instrumental network for Scholars.
