Presentation Ceremony of the
2020 John Monash Scholars
On Tuesday 11th February, our inspiring cohort of 2020 John Monash Scholars were presented with their Scholarship Certificates by His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and the Foundation’s Patron-in-Chief, at a special ceremony held at Queens Hall, Parliament House Melbourne.
Twenty talented scholars will collectively be exploring a variety of subject matters - all aiming to contribute to how we might tackle many of the pressing issues of our day: law and domestic policy, peace and conflict; rural and regional healthcare; sustainability in construction, energy alternatives, capabilities of quantum computing, entrepreneurship and social initiatives, medical interventions using advanced technologies with new media, literature and storytelling to contextualise and express how we navigate our complex globe. It is wonderful to have representation from all states and territories and from 14 universities across the nation. This new cohort will undertake their postgraduate studies at world leading institutions in the UK, USA, Asia and Europe, such as Oxford, Cambridge, University College London, Kings College London, Princeton, Harvard, Columbia, INSEAD, MIT, and Sciences Po.
We were delighted to welcome over 150 guests including Foundation supporters, friends, Scholar alumni and families to the majestic Queen’s Hall, in what was a very special and memorable occasion.
