Global Leadership Symposium
March 15 & 16, New York
The inaugural John Monash Scholars’ Symposium was held in New York on March 15th and 16th, 2018. This year’s theme is inspired by the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Hamel, a significant event in Australian history and in the development of Australian leadership. The Battle of Hamel, led by General Sir John Monash was the first instance of an Australian leading American troops abroad and signifies a pivotal moment in mateship, camaraderie and the development of the Australia-America relationship. In light of this momentous anniversary, 40 John Monash Scholars from around the globe gathered in New York, joined by Scholars from the American Australian Association and partook in an informed, thought provoking conversation on leadership; past, present and future. For details on the John Monash Scholars that attended, watch the video above! A post event video will be available on this page shortly and on our YouTube Channel.
The Symposium was hosted by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia with kind support from K&L Gates International Law Firm, New York. The General Sir John Monash Foundation would like to acknowledge the Lee Liberman Foundation, Kelly+Partners and Woodside Energy for their generous support of this event.
