The Foundation is proud to congratulate John Monash Scholars Andrew Hudson (2005) and Dr Samuel Wills (2010) who have been announced as finalists for the Advance Awards 2020.
Established in 2012, the Advance Awards recognise the work of remarkable Australians making an extraordinary impact on the global stage in industry sectors that are of particular importance.
Andrew is Executive Director and CEO of Crisis Action, which works with aid organisations, human rights organisations, business leaders, religious leaders, and governments around to globe to coordinate political responses to violent conflicts.
Samuel is an Economist at Rokos Capital Management whose research has led to significant real-world impact, most notably with the $1 trillion Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund.
2014 BHP John Monash Scholar Alexandra Readhead coordinating COVID-19 economic recovery with the Future of Resource Taxation initiative
The Future of Resource Taxation is an initiative from the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) working in partnership with the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF). The initiative aims to improve the ways governments collect revenue from the mining sector. Alexandra Readhead is IGF lead for tax and extractives whose work will assist in re-evaluating and improving the fiscal regimes governing the mining industry for developing countries.
