Dr Phoebe Williams writes on how COVID-19 is impacting children
Dr Phoebe Williams is a paediatrician at a Sydney Hospital and has a PhD in clinical infectious diseases. As Australians struggle to adapt to the new normal of working from home, many families find themselves juggling the stress and disruption to routine due to children at home and increased workloads. This secondary effect of COVID-19 has left children more vulnerable as unsupervised injuries rise and isolation takes a toll on the mental health of teenagers. In Phoebe's opinion piece written for The Sydney Morning Herald, she appeals to parents to feel confident in bringing their children to hospital and that they will be cared for with adequate resources.
