2005 John Monash Scholar Dr Matthew Baker awarded $488,914 funding by Australian Research Council
Dr Matthew Baker and Dr Shelley Wickham have been awarded $488,914 in ARC funding for their research into a scalable, synthetic retina. The project aims to design DNA-based nanotechnology for processing optical signals in synthetic biological systems. Matthew is a Scientia Research Fellow at UNSW's School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences.

Dr Ling San Lau is a researcher at Columbia University's School of Public Health Program on Forced Migration and Health. The World Bank has now released a knowledge brief based off this research examining indirect health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced persons in humanitarian settings.

Michael Grebla's string quartet piece 'Fede' (faith) was specially selected in a call for scores by Deus Ex Musica in partnership with the Carrefour Chamber Music Project. The work was performed as part of a virtual interfaith concert of sacred chamber music, broadcasted from Shreveport, Louisiana, and performed by the Carrefour Chamber Music Project.
