Foundation Chairman Jillian Segal AO awarded Monash Medal
The Foundation is proud to congratulate our Chairman Jillian Segal AO who was awarded the Monash Medal by The Rotary Club of Melbourne in recognition of her outstanding leadership, integrity and service to the Public Sector, Business Leadership and Philanthropy. Jillian's work is best exemplified through her leadership as Chairman of the Foundation. Her contributions and efforts have been vital to the Foundation's growth and continued prestige.
In her acceptance address Jillian said, “I feel very privileged to be in receipt of a medal named after one of my great heroes. General Sir John Monash had a close association with the Rotary Club of Melbourne, becoming not only a Charter member but its second President.
The close connection with Rotary goes beyond our shared connection to Sir John and his community focused values. We are very grateful for the support three of our Scholars have received from Rotary in the past few years. Dr Ida Whiteman was awarded a Rotary Global Grant in 2016 and Dr William Mitchell in 2019. Our 2020 Scholar Eva Mackinley received the Rotary Peace Fellowship this year which will provide valuable additional support for an outstanding young woman who will begin her studies in January 2021”.
