General Sir John Monash Foundation announces three new scholarships funded by philanthropist Judith Neilson
The General Sir John Monash Foundation announces it will offer three new scholarships in 2021 as part of its prestigious annual awards program made possible through funding from philanthropist Judith Neilson. The scholarships will focus on supporting the important areas of sustainable futures, social innovation and cohesion, and cross-sectoral collaborations.
Annemarie Rolls, CEO of the General Sir John Monash Foundation says the foundation was thrilled to have secured the generous support and commitment from the Judith Neilson Foundation on these important areas of scholarship focus.
2019 Susan and Isaac Wakil John Monash Scholar Jessie Smith co-writes on terrorism laws in The Telegraph
Jessie Smith is currently completing a PhD in Law at the University of Cambridge supported by her John Monash Scholarship. She has co-written in The Telegraph on terrorism laws in the UK and how further review and clarity is needed.
3A Institute launches 2021 Master of Applied Cybernetics
The 3A Institute (3Ai) at the Australian National University is recruiting students from a broad range of backgrounds and disciplines for the 2021 Master of Applied Cybernetics. The Masters is the world’s first graduate program focusing on the challenges of ensuring Ai-enabled cyber-physical systems are safe, sustainable and responsible.
3Ai is also home to John Monash Scholars with Research Lead Dr Katherine Daniell (2005) and Research Fellow Dr Amy McLennan (2009) both working at 3Ai. “The 3Ai community and John Monash Scholars have a lot in common: We collaborate with others from all fields of endeavour, are building new capabilities to address complex national and global challenges, and have a shared sense of responsibility to future generations of Australians," says Amy.
