Multi-governance crisis response and action for global disasters
Watch both ANU Professor Dr Katherine Daniell (2005 John Monash Scholar) and Dr Garang Dut (2017 Roth/Segal John Monash Scholar) from the ANU/Australian Department of Health on YouTube, as they took part in the opening roundtable of the Our Common Future IACS 2021 Polycentricity virtual conference. Entitled ‘Polycentric and multi-level responses to crises’, the roundtable was joined by academics and government officials from several countries and discussed lesson-drawings and trends in the governance of disasters. Dr Daniell has also credited 2006 John Monash Scholar Dr Tim Trudgian for his efforts to boost connections amongst our Canberran Scholars.
Dr Matt Baker awarded $1.8 million research grant |
Radio New Zealand (RNZ) has described 2005 John Monash Scholar and dual Aussie-Kiwi citizen Dr Matt Baker as a ‘renaissance man’. Matt is the honoured recipient of a $1.8 million research grant from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP). Listen to Matt’s eclectic interview in which he discusses his research on Bacterial Flagellar Motor, freestyle rapping and his family’s favorite sport - fencing.

2017 Roden Cutler NSW John Monash Scholar Dr Martin Seneviratne has recently been published in Nature Protocols. His research paper discusses the use of health data for the early prediction of patient outcomes.
