On Tuesday 2nd March, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and the Foundation’s Patron-in-Chief, presented nine of our 2021 John Monash Scholars with their Scholarship Certificates in a special ceremony hosted at Government House, Canberra by the Governor General and Mrs Hurley. Four of the 2021 Scholars: Lauren Bennett, Emily Ragus, Holli Sargeant and Dr Brett Shannon, are currently overseas and therefore were unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony.

2011 Scholar and chess Grandmaster Dr David Smerdon will be pitting his skills in a simultaneous exhibition match against up to 30 people for Brisbane Valley Chess in Queensland.
