2007 John Monash Scholar Dr Owen Siggs co-awarded $100,000 Dr. David L. Epstein Award by ARVO Foundation
The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) has awarded Dr Owen Siggs and his mentor Dr Jamie Craig, the 2021 Dr David L. Epstein Award worth $100,000. The award recognises well-established, senior investigators with a documented history of conducting eye and vision research in glaucoma and their role in mentoring clinician-scientists to independent academic and research careers. This award supports Craig and Owen collaborative project in glaucoma research.
2012 John Monash Scholar Madeline Gleeson writes on Australia's offshore processing
Madeline is a Lawyer and Senior Research Associate at the Andrew & Renata Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law regularly providing expert opinion on issues in refugee law. Her response to the UK's consideration of adopting Australia's offshore processing for asylum seekers has been featured in the Guardian explaining how it fails to meet its goals at considerable costs.
