Louis is a fellow and assistant professor at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He works on topics in literature and philosophy, with a focus on aesthetics, modern and contemporary literature, and literary theory. His first book, The Constellational Novel (manuscript in progress), explores associative and essayistic prose fiction. It is based on his doctoral research, which was supervised by the British writer Robert Macfarlane. His first degree was a Bachelor of Philosophy in philosophy at the Australian National University, where he was a National Undergraduate Scholar. He was a Junior Research Fellow in English and Philosophy at Clare College, Cambridge (2021-2023). His poems have been widely published, and anthologised in Best Australian Poems and Best of Australian Poems.
