Nicholas Duddy is a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in English at the University of Oxford. His current research explores representations of suicide in twentieth-century anglophone drama, while other interests include modernism, Australian literature, trauma theory, practice-led research, and theatre more broadly. Raised in the Adelaide Hills, he graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours in Creative Writing and a University Medal before completing his Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Performance at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. Nicholas is passionate about connecting the creative arts with communities. He has volunteered with the Australian Refugee Association and The Smith Family. In the future, he hopes to combine his interests in writing and teaching, storytelling and scholarship, art and academia.
