Doctorate of Musical Arts (Music Composition)
The Juilliard School
Elizabeth is quickly gaining a reputation as one of Australia's finest young composers. After completing a Bachelor of Music in composition (First Class Honours) and a Master of Music in composition (supported by the Australian Postgraduate Award) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music/University of Sydney, she was the first Australian in history to be admitted to study composition on a full scholarship at Philadelphia's renowned Curtis Institute of Music. Her music was featured on violinist Jennifer Koh's GRAMMY award-winning album Alone Together, which acknowledged the suffering of the pandemic and offered hope for a brighter future. Elizabeth believes that the most foundational goal of a composer is to communicate with people through music and education to foster a deeply shared humanity. She has dedicated her life to this cause, having composed more than 35 pieces of music that have reached thousands of people through 80 concerts and multiple radio broadcasts. “My goal is to pass on my skills to the next generation to ensure the continuation of one of our most important cultural traditions: music.”
