Domantas is a Master of Biomedical Engineering graduate from the University of Sydney. For as long as he can remember, he has had a passion for health and technology, which has led him to explore ways in which novel technologies can be integrated into Australian healthcare to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities. “I am captivated by recent developments in neurotechnology research, such as spinal stimulators, that have allowed paralysed patients to walk, and retinal implants that propose to restore a sense of sight in blind patients.” As a Cochlear employee, Domantas was inspired by Professor Graeme Clark, who restored the hearing of those with profound deafness using the Cochlear implant, and his ambition is to provide the same benefits to individuals with other neurological conditions. “I have an entrepreneurial spirit and would love to establish an Australian business to achieve this goal.”
