Nicholas is a public servant with considerable experience as a regulatory litigator at the Australian Government Solicitor and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, judicial clerk and academic researcher, including at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Ethics. He graduated from Melbourne Law School with First Class Honours and served as Editor of the Melbourne University Law Review.
At Columbia, he is exploring emerging topics in competition policy, artificial intelligence, consumer protection, and digital platform regulation. He is a future leader in competition and technology policy and hopes to assist governments in developing harmonious approaches to regulating digital platforms and emerging technologies. “Unregulated digital platforms can harm consumers and markets, generative AI poses real threats to market stability, and the future of the administrative state is uncertain. I want to bring my expertise to these issues and work towards a better, fairer society.”
