Dr Xin Zhang is a Sydney-based doctor and researcher specialising in Cognitive Neurology. She is working towards developing world-class dementia care for all Australians, including those from regional and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, where she has served. Her passion for research began during her Physics Degree at the University of Sydney and continued into her Medical Degree for which she was awarded first-class honours at the same University. During her studies, she was an active advocate for the health impacts of environmental issues and taught astronomy extensively at Sydney Observatory. She is also an avid painter and outdoor enthusiast. She is representing Australian Neurology as an Overseas Fellow at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London. The John Monash Scholarship will enable her to undertake a PhD in Neurology at the University College London. In her project, she intends to bridge the gap between Science, Medicine, and the human experience; and to advance the development of dementia treatments.
