Tim has a Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Mechanical Engineering (1st Class Honours), a Bachelor of Science (Physics) and a Master of Engineering Science (Nuclear) from the University of New South Wales. He previously worked as a shift manager at ANSTO’s OPAL research reactor, which produces 75% of nuclear medical isotopes used in Australia. Tim made a lasting impact on the Australian nuclear community by formally establishing a network for the country’s young professionals (AusYGN). Tim’s current role is in planning operations for Finland’s largest investment project, Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant. With the support of his John Monash Scholarship, Tim plans to undertake an MBA at INSEAD with a focus on sustainable corporate strategies and responsible business practices in the energy sector. He intends to apply this knowledge to decarbonizing the electricity grid and supporting Australia’s transition to net zero emissions. In his spare time, he enjoys powerlifting, hiking, and playing the guitar.
