Rural health service provision Allied health
Rebecca Keeley has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Flinders University and was the first speech pathologist to undertake the Allied Health Rural and Remote Generalist Training Program with James Cook University. With the support of the John Monash Scholarship, Rebecca completed a Masters of Business Administration at Oxford University. On her return to Australia Rebecca recognised a problem in how Australia delivered speech pathology services and founded Yarn Speech, a startup company developing a gamification platform to make basic speech pathology principles more accessible, especially for children. Rebecca is an advocate for utilising business models to redesign the way we provide allied health services in geographically isolated locations. She is a proud advocate for early career allied health professionals in rural and remote areas, having established the mentoring support group Outback Allies, and believes in empowering young allied health clinicians to best support their patients and communities.
