Milan Gandhi has a Bachelor of Laws (1st Class Honours) from the University of Queensland and is a former Australian Law Student of the Year. With the support of his John Monash Scholarship, Milan plans to undertake a Master of Public Policy (22-23) at the University of Oxford and identify policy solutions to safeguard Australia’s democracy from the harmful effects of digital technologies such as social media platforms. Milan has occupied multidisciplinary roles as an advisor on law and policy and as an innovation strategist. Milan works for DMTC Ltd, assisting to drive innovation in Australia’s national security and related sectors. He is the founder of The Legal Forecast, an organisation exploring the intersection between law and new technologies, and the chair of the Australasian Cyber Law Institute’s ‘Democracy and Public Knowledge’ subcommittee. Also an alumnus of Bond University’s film program, Milan has a background in writing and directing.
